About the Course
Our D.I.Y. Web Success Workshop will provide a solid introduction to successful online strategies, website building, content management, and search engine optimization. During the two day course, participants will build a website with an events calendar, news room, FAQ page, blog, forum, contact form and landing pages. They will also learn how to change the theme of their website and optimize the content for search engines. Participants will leave the class with a fully functional SEO friendly website for a small business or organization.
Workshop Goals:
- Understand the strategic differences between websites that achieve results and those that don't
- Leverage state-of-the-art site building tools to build powerful websites
- Install LevelTen's iSite Essentials Drupal distribution
- Understand core concepts of content management and site building skills
- Learn how to choose the right template for your website
- Identify appropriate conversion mechanisms
- Learn the basics of search engine optimization, including intelligent keyword analysis
Course format
The course is a two day course with a mixture of lecture, demonstration and workshop time. The workshop is divided into four sessions:
- Strategy and tools
- Site building including basics of content management, page layouts and theme selection
- Search engine optimization
- Open workshop
Intended Audience
This course is for anyone who would like to know more about the strategies, tools and skills needed to build state-of-the-art websites. It is an introductory course suitable for people with little to no web experience. If you are an owner, manager, marketer or webmaster of a small to midsized business or organization, this course is for you.
Prerequisites
Participants need no prior web development skills.
Additional Courses
This course provides a basic introduction to site building using the features provided by the LevelTen iSite Essentials distribution of Drupal. While this distribution provides a large number of features popular in business and organization websites, Drupal can be extended considerably.
