Art Director / Senior Designer

Responsibilities

You will be responsible for development of visual concepts and designs that reflect our clients’ businesses and target audiences. You will be responsible for overseeing all creative elements and the visual direction of projects. This position will involve hands-on design and providing art direction for both in-house and freelance designers.

Typical tasks include:

• Creation of original visual/multimedia concepts
• Mentoring and coaching in-house creative team
• Monitoring overall artistic quality
• Creation of vector and raster graphics for web, multimedia and print
• Development of branding rules to maintain consistent client brands
• Collaborating with other technical and marketing team members

Skills

Self-taught designers who have achieved a high level of design and those with design or marketing related degrees welcome.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of agency-level graphic and web design experience
• Art direction experience
• Solid understanding of web interface design and usability best practices
• Ability to accurately translate business requirements into marketing oriented creative design
• Exceptional oral communication skills / ability to communicate with clients, vendors, partners and staff
• Thorough attention to detail
• Proficient in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator or Macromedia Fireworks and Freehand
• Working understanding of XHTML and CSS

Bonus Skills:

• Macromedia Flash
• Print design with print pre-press experience
• HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, CGI, ASP, etc.
• Marketing strategy experience

Compensation
