Create Smarter Content with Alchemy for Drupal

The Alchemy Drupal module integrates the Alchemy advanced content analysis API into Drupal. With this module you can extract high-quality keywords, entities, and concepts from standard node content. This data can be used with the Content Analysis, Auto Tagging, and Tagging modules to enable fast and intelligent node tagging.

The Ultimate Drupal SEO Module Directory

Back in 2008, when LevelTen made the official switch to only supporting the Drupal CMS, one of the primary factors in our decision making was the marketing capabilities that Drupal provided. From a purely search engine optimization standpoint, Drupal was (and still is) heads and shoulders above other open source content mangement systems. Why is Drupal so much better?

  1. Great coding.
  2. Ease of content creation.
  3. Modular functionality.

Campaign Monitor Newsletter Sign-Up Using Drupal

Campaign Monitor newsletter service is, in my opinion, top of its class, so I became excited when I found two Drupal modules that use the Campaign Monitor API. One module gives you the basics for users to sign-up on your website, and the more advanced module allows you to map website fields to existing ones set up on the Campaign Monitor website. I would recommend only enabling one at a time.

Social Networks in Drupal - Modules to Define Relationships

At the heart of most social networks is the ability for users to contribute content and collaborate/communicate with each other. At its foundation “relationships” are typically defined giving users certain privileges to each others information. For example, on a music community, artists may have a relationship with fans that have subscribed to the artist allowing the two roles to send private messages between each other.

What we're talking about in May:

Randall will headline the evening by talking about the magic of CCK. Not just the basics like how to add more information to a node, but how to create your own content types of information, aka CCK Widgets.

Tom will follow up with a presentation about the content optimizer module and how to build a API.

The second half will be a lightning talk. These will be short 5 minute presentations/conversations given by you. Feel free to talk for the whole 5 minutes, or ask a question and have the others talk for 5 minutes. It's nothing to prepare for but, something keep it in mind before the meeting.

What? Another Three Letter Acronym!

XSL, ASP, ISP, SQL, POP, PHP...... Don't they drive you crazy?! They do me. I constantly hear them thrown around the office in all kinds of situations. Here is another, API. What in the heck does this one mean? Well, API is one of the few I do know. API stands for Application Programming Interface. Wikipedia defines API as "a source code interface that an operating system or library provides to support requests for services to be made of it by computer programs." Wow! Isn't that a mouthful?

Credit card processing: what you need to know

Many business owners need to accept payments online, but are confused by the many options and services available. Following is a glossary, and a brief summary of the issues involved:

Merchant Account. This is not a checking account, but an agreement with a Merchant Account Service Provider to process credit card payments and make deposits into your checking account. The MASP is not a bank, but their service is obtained through, and coordinated with, a brick-and-mortar bank. Online processors can't set this up for you, and neither can your web developer.
