One of the things that always gets my gander up when I get comps and mockups back from designers is when there are buttons in places that links should be. There are pretty defined guidelines for when to use buttons and when to use links and these are often not followed.

Site directories are much like traditional business directories except for hyperlinks. They can include links to commercial, informational, educational institutions, and non-profit websites. The links are categorized into different high level taxonomy and then taken to the most specific description of the website. The Yahoo! Directory and Open Directory Project , Dmoz.org were two of the earliest lists of links which turned into a basses for many search engines' results.
Other examples include: Business.com, Joeant.com, Best of the Web (BOTW.org), Sevenseek.com
Has a friend ever sent you a link that you swore you were going to look at - only you never did? If you're anything like me, it happens more then you'd like to admit. There's so much great content on the web and only so much time to spend absorbing it all. Currently, I use Delicious to solve this problem. I add it to my bookmarks and apply a "read later" tag. It fits most of my needs, but sometimes my "read later" items get lost with my other links. Wouldn't it be nice if there were a service that addressed just my need to save my "read later" links?
A reciprocal links program is a service that creates web pages that link to all member sites. All members, in turn, periodically post the pages to their site. Through this mechanism each member gets cross-linked with each other. Thus, traffic can travel from one site to another and link popularity is increased.
