Alright! I never had a childhood dream to become a magician, but the internet has changed many things in my life. Here is the wonderfulness that is Vector Magic. And boy, is it a doozy. Say your client send you this little, ugly, pixelated gif of their logo, and expect you to plaster it all over thier website and print collateral... in all different sizes. Now, instead of hounding them day and night until you can explain the difference between a .gif and a .eps, or any other format for that matter... you can make it yourself!

The internet has effectively eradicated designers' pretenses for secrecy of technique, and opened an unparalleled forum for sharing knowledge.

Though many hoarders still exist out there, they are missing a large opportunity for self-promotion through the web. Aspiring designers web-search design terms to self-teach themselves Illustrator, Photoshop, and so on.

As a creative person, I'm always looking for different things to inspire me and my designs, such as museums, books, the internet, and my surroundings. When I can't get out of the office, I like to check out different designers websites for inspiration. There has been a recent trend in the web world of "web galleries", which showcase hundreds of websites with good design. I like to browse through these galleries, clicking from link to link to look for something, may it be a design element, color scheme, or interesting photo, that catches my creative eye and sparks the lightbulb in my brain.

So I'm a big football fan and as such have always been one to root for the underdog; it didn't get any better than Saturday when #5 Michigan got beat by their "Sub-Division" tune up game opponent Appalachian State. Needless to say here's a look at my new desktop.
