How Internal Linking Affects Organic Search Results

Your websites internal linking structure can be just as important as your sites inbound external links. You want to be sure, for one, that your site is using clean URLs, with no Session IDs. For example, instead of your contact form's URL reading, "http://www.example.com/node/1348thsliea?238tah1348585, you'd want it to read "http://www.example.com/contact".

Ideally, each internal page and link should be wrapped around some targeted keyword phrases. Having a clean, static URL is preferable, even more preferable is having a clean, static, keyword-rich URL.

How Content Value Affects Your Organic Results

As we like to say in the industry - "Content is King." Not only can content provide good link fodder (people find valuable content on your website and link to it), but a site that has a continuous stream of fresh, quality content will be seen as more relevant and valuable by the search engines.

How Site Penalties Affect Your Websites Organic Results

Site Penalties are aspects of your site that break search engine rules. If you have any penalties on your website, it will be much harder, if not impossible for your site to rank well. If you discover any penalties against your site, you'll want to take care of these as quickly as you can.

Penalties against your website can include:

  • Over optimization
  • Black Hat SEO
  • Duplicate Content
  • Too many paid links
  • Keyword Stuffing
  • Doorway Pages
  • Invisible Text
  • Link farms

Website Management and Marketing with LevelTen Interactive

Welcome to 2009.

The Internet has been around in one form or another since the 1960s. Companies have been using the Internet to sell their wares since about 1995. Almost 15 years later, it's amazing how many companies still don't do it right.

And that's OK.

Website management and marketing is tough stuff. There are a lot of variables you have to consider:

  • What's your target market?
  • What are your customers searching for?
  • Is social media right for me?
