Mobile browsing has been an interest of mine ever since Blue Flavor released the dotMobi "Mobile Web Developer's Guide Part I," a best-practices guide for developing websites specifically for mobile devices.

Lately, the talk has been about mobile devices, such as the iPhone, that display full websites. Since these mobile devices display websites exactly like desktop browsers, what's the need for mobile specific web pages? Blue Flavor gives an excellent answer. They state, "The problem isn't the capabilities of the device, or standards, or even operators, as much as we'd like to blame them for being the root of all evil. The problem is context." Users have different motives for internet browsing when they are out and about and we should develop mobile websites accordingly. Read Blue Flavor's full response.
