Walmart Cleans Up Stores; Next Customer Service

It's official; I'll never walk into a Walmart store again

Last night Conner and I had to make a quick stop into the Walmart in Hurst and I was amazed at how beautiful the inside of the store appeared. It was quite evident that they had invested some time and energy researching the competition (Target) and found that bright stores with wide isles do make for a better shopping experience and most likely more repeat business.

Impressed with the change, I decided to shoot a short video, that is featured below, but was shocked at what happened after I completed the 10 second shot; when one the employees said "Nice looking store isn't it?" I quickly replied "yes," and started to make my way towards the exit. No more than 10 seconds later another employee, who had also witnessed me shooting the video, shouted out "Excuse me sir," and then proceeded to tell me that it was against Walmart policy to shoot video in the store and punishable by law.

I promptly replied okay, thank you and then made my way towards the McDonald's in the store (Conner wanted some nuggets.) While standing in line I could here over a very loud walkie-talkie communication, the woman describing me, where I was in the store and that I had taken video. I paid for our food and then noticed the manager with the walkie-talkie making his way towards me as I headed toward the exit. He then proceeded to follow me and watch Conner and I walk all the way to our car from the front door.

At that point I was furious so I turned around, walked back to the front door and right up to the manager and asked if I needed something from me? I told him that I had shot video in the store because I was admiring what a great looking store it was and if he needed anything from me; to which again he replied no. I then asked why he followed me to my vehicle and he simply replied that he was the manager and that he wasn't following me, just that he'd come to the front of the building to wait for someone.

The point is what Walmart has done to improve the quality of their stores is still being totally destroyed by their employees, as I can't imagine anyone from Costco doing that to me. What's even stranger is the fact that Walmart recently fired one of their employees for trying stop a theft, but had no problem treating me like a criminal while I was there.

Just in case you missed it, I'll never step foot in a Walmart again and I hope you don't either!
