$3500 Only Took 3 Years to Earn Online with Google, Affiliate & Text-Link-Ads

Follow Me On Twitter

Everyone in the office always asks me how i make money with Drupal; the simple answer is find a niche, test every form of revenue stream possible, wash, rinse and repeat.

In other words, if you're passionate about something start a website dedicated to wherever that passion lies. For me, my first site SloanInnovations.com was about cars and generally still is; however I've started using some aggregate content and now it's really popular for things like Text-Link-Ads; and since I first added their code I've made over $1900! The reason that I haven't done as much with this site in recent months is simply due to the fact that my passion now is much more around my family and football, but who know's maybe I'll kick that dead horse a time or two in the coming weeks.

And then there's football, my second passion, where I've had the honor of getting an official letter from the NFL for www.superbowl2011dallas.com (something about copyright issues), UnitedFootballLeagues.com and ColtMcCoy.net. Those sites are a combination of original content that I've written from time to time and new content that is feed in from other web resources. It works great for staying at the top of the search engines as the content is always moving thinks to all the conversation on Twitter.com. Traffic for those sites is generally about 200 uniques per day during the season and I've seen both peek at times to well over 5000 uniques in a day. From an advertising perspective I'm utilizing 2 formats on both; I've got affiliate advertising that's powered by Shareasale.com and has generated about $500 in 2 years of use. The second format I'm using is Google Adsense, my first and original form online advertising and during the 3 years I've used it, it's given me about $1100 big ones!

As you can see there's always some opportunity to generate revenue online and every site is going to have different results based upon both your audience and niche. I said it to start the article and I'll say it again, find a niche, test every form of revenue stream possible, wash, rinse and repeat. Not only will you continue to make money from the first site, but you'll start making money from the third and the tenth and the...
