On Tuesday, December 4, Tom McCracken, president of LevelTen, concluded his three-part series lecture on Synergy Online Marketing. This final installment of the seminars was held at the Iron Cactus in Downtown Dallas with a beautiful view of the festive Pegasus Plaza.

“Process of Illumination,” enlightened attendees on the process of Synergy Online Marketing by showing how to implement a successful plan. Tom educated us on the planning for marketing through audience, competative, and keyword analysis, as well as site audits and marketing mix. Other important factors in planning are budgets and goals - proper preparedness can increase your likeliness to have a larger return on your investment.

Last week, LevelTen held our second installment of the Synergy Online Marketing series: “Blueprints for Online Marketing Success.” Tom McCracken, President of LevelTen, gave a remarkable presentation on the Architecture of Synergy Online Marketing. Originally coined by SEO superstar Aaron of SEObook.com, but popularized by SEOMoz CEO Rand Fishkin, the concept of linkbait has worked its way into the Internet Marketer’s vocabulary of commonly used industry terms. Although not quite a mainstream marketing term yet, in the past six months to a year, professional and psudo-professional bloggers as well as SEO/SEM professionals have used, and overused this term. Below are a few opinions from credible sources answering the question “what is linkbait?”

“Link bait is any content or feature within a website that somehow baits viewers to place links to it from other websites. Attempts to create link bait are frequently employed in the overall task of search engine optimization.” - Wikipedia

“Something interesting enough to catch people’s attention [online].” - Matt Cutts

“Compelling content that’s remarkable.”
