Every morning when I login to my computer there are about 5 newsletters if not more that I see that I have subscribed too. They range from technology, special events, news, search engine marketing hot topics to daily words of wisdom. Each one of these newsletter I scan, jot something down from and then reorganize them so I can get through my daily emails.
Today I did something different! Read the rest of this entry »

Let’s face it, we’ve all been sold to our entire lives; at the car dealership, at the electronics store and even at the pushier clothing stores. I’m an informed consumer and I know what I want, so please don’t sell me. What I need is a knowledgeable expert who can provide me with some in-depth advise about my options and assist me in purchasing the right solution for my needs. Read the rest of this entry »

Every morning when you wake up there is a routine that you have become accustomed too. Alarm goes off, you hit the snooze, alarm goes off again, you hit the snooze a little harder this time, then again and harder the alarm clock gets hit till finally you grunt, groan and finally get out of bed and in to the shower..off to work, stop for coffee, wake up some more and then maybe muster up enough energy to start working on your emails or phone calls. ugggggghhhh…. well this may not be your personal routine but its what a lot of people do in one way or another to get their day started. The problem with this is, they don’t really want to get up, and when you arent really happy about doing something, often times it reflects on the rest of our day. So what are some ways that we can change this?
I’s easy to recognize when you’re physically tired. You haven’t slept normally in days or even weeks. You can’t remember the last time you saw the inside of a gym. And enough caffeine is racing through your bloodstream to keep a small elephant alert. Read the rest of this entry »

The quest begins with a simple Google search “professional web design company;” because after all you’ve had the IT guy do your last site and his design skills leave much to be desired. Your search returns several astounding companies, and no surprise at the top of the list you find LevelTen. After a few minutes browsing our award winning portfolio, you take the time to fill out the free price quote and so begins the company website redesign.

I initially began selling online media in 2003 with Verizon Superpages.com. I worked in the startup division that focused primarily on the Superpages.com product. Unlike traditional “Yellow Page” reps our division only focused on the pay-per-click and pay-per-call models. To make things more complicated I was assigned to sell Local Yellow page PPC Campaigns to National Advertising Firms and Search Engine Marketing Agencies. I experience tons of success landing large accounts to lock on to our platform. There was this one guy that never returned my calls, I believe he work with Level Ten Design and I think his name was Tom. I bet that company never made it without my Yellow pages PPC model I was selling. After landing a few big dogs like Travelocity, Reachlocal and Hilton Hotels through agency relationships I felt it was time to branch out and move beyond the internet Yellow Pages.
Zunch Communications at the time was one of my clients at Superpages.com and they had a need for a new sales rep. In early 2006 I made the move to Zunch and was one of the interactive marketing consultants assigned to take over the world. We primarily focused on Search Engine Optimization but were equipped to selling large custom wed design & ecommerce projects. The average SEO client spent around $4000.00 per month and average Web development would start at $50,000.
It’s amazing to see the growth of this industry over the past four years. The major corporations and local SME’s have began to understand the need for an online presence. The sophistication of the search engines has increased the need for a legitimate firm and the local mom and pop “chop” shops won’t get it done anymore. This is the reason I’ve aligned my background with a firm that’s proven success to many clients.
Let’s get ready to Rumble

The Sales Cycle has changed considerably over the years. The Fuller Brush Company started out in 1906, and salesman walked miles each day going Door-to-Door to meet and great the lady of the house and share with them beauty, household and day to day products that would revolutionize the way they look, feel and manage their households and by using Alfred C. Fullers famous words, “…the best products of their kind in the world.” Fuller’s philosophy was simple:
From the beginning Fuller established three basic rules:
• Make it work
• Make it last
• Guarantee it no matter what.
As the years went by Mr. Fuller became a model to many sales organizations by upholding quality and customer service. How the years have changed though, now you can get arrested for knocking on someone’s door and offering them a service, and if you happen to be in the wrong neighborhood or wrong state in some cases and someone perceives you to be attempting to steal or harm them, they even have the right to shoot to kill. So you might be able to see why many Door-to Door sales organizations are having problems with sales, who wants to get shot at because it got dark early? Trust me, I did Door to Door sales for over a year and having a gun pulled on you is not my idea of a productive environment for selling!
And then there are all those lovely Do Not Call and Spam laws! Read the rest of this entry »

The conversation starts like this. A business owner comes in and says “Can your company help us get our website better search results in the search engines?” And I reply, “WOW, I’ve got great news! You’ve come to the right place. We specialize in SEO.”
Digging deeper we find that the business owner’s wife’s nephew’s friend helped with some changes on their site a few months ago but has now moved on to Jr. College and is no where to be found. Meanwhile, because he’s not around anymore to “optimize” the site, they’ve seemingly fallen off the search engines or are no longer able to pull up for key search terms or even the company name. The business owner says “Can you pickup where he left off and help us get back up for search results?”
My response is, “Did I say we do Search Engine Optimization? We provide Search Emergency Operations. As a matter of fact, I’m leaving right now to help out with the fires in California.” Read the rest of this entry »

Think back to a time in your life when you had just started a new dating relationship, Mr. or Ms. Right could do no wrong and you were completely blinded by infatuation. Fast forward 6 months and the unique laugh and adorable tendencies are more annoying than cute. Over time we discover traits in a potential partner that we like and dislike; let’s face it, no one is perfect, so clearly knowing those likes/dislikes is a vital part finding the right fit.
In a business relationship it’s just as important to be able to clearly identify your ideal client. Read the rest of this entry »

Tom McCracken, President and CEO of LevelTen, gave his first lecture series on Synergy Online Marketing (SOM) on September 18th. The first portion of the three-part series at Vino100 was held in Uptown Dallas, and it was a great success. Titled “Vitality through Synergy,” this seminar exposed the ways to breathe new life into your business by maximizing your online web presence through marketing. With 30 attendees ranging from clients, prospective clients, employees, and networking contacts, we enjoyed delicious wines, did some networking, and were educated on the principles of SOM.
