Expanding the Conversation
We are in the beginning stages of an online promotional effort for Prayers for the Assassin, a new novel being published by Scribner in February. This online campaign is centered around a website we will be launching in late January called RepublicWorldNews.com. We believe this site will draw attention to some of the interesting questions raised in Prayers for the Assassin. Where could our current world events lead us? What if some of the events described in the book actually happened?
The premise of an Islamic America raised by Robert Ferrigno in Prayers for the Assassin is the culmination of events that actually start with some of the events we are seeing unfold around the world every day. Sky rocketing deficits, caused, in part, by the war in Iraq. Strain on the economy. Lack of confidence in our leaders. Europe’s Mulsim minority becoming the majority.
These are very interesting topics for discussion. Questions we can ask our selves and each other. Opinions and conversations about the possibilities of the world in turmoil and where that might lead us.
Online, blogs are the perfect place to have some of these conversations. Since we blog a lot, we thought it would be a great idea to expand the conversation by getting advance reader copies of Prayers into the hands of active bloggers.
If you are blogging regularly and are interested in politics, religion, world events or books, here’s a link to a form on the Prayers teaser site. You can sign up to be considered to get one of the 400 books we have to give away and you can also read Robert’s blog posts about this great new novel and his thoughts on current events.
