Since I installed the updated php version to my website, I have been getting server timeout when I try and check the stats,
my website is also reporting a broken link for the counter.cgi link on all my web pages,
what is wrong, how do I fix, if I can't get in a recopy the html code when the server is timed out? |

I've got the same problem. Installation worked just fine, but when I
open the reporter, It says that the server is not responding.
I know that the server is up and running, because my page content is
from the same database. My pages show up fine.
Would be mighty greatfull if somebody knew what to do.
Oh, P.s. The server its on is a:
Apache/1.3.27 (Unix) AuthMySQL/2.20 PHP/4.3.2
with Mysql 3.23.53 |

just installed L10HC, v3.15 r6 (12/15/03), and i am getting the same server timeout, installation went fine but "Reporter" page times out.
my server's name is ewan, and he is running
apache 1.3.29
php 4.3.3
mysql 4.0.15
on red hat 7.3 (yes i know it's time to move on with that, but this is such a stable configuration)
ewan is a PIII 1.2 GB with 512MB of RAM, running at .32 CPU and 40% memory when this error occurred, not even breathing hard. |

I received this answer from someone off the forums, worked like a charm! Why Level 10 can't post it is a mystery to me,
"I am using the CGI version, but from what I've read on the forum, this may help for PHP as well. Open your L10HC_Errors.log server file. You will see a number of "Cannot open..." errors.
The problem is the install does not create the 'Y04' directories. Go into each of the directories under 'L10HC_Archive' and create the 'Y04' directory. I also had to CHMOD 'L10HC_Archive' to make it readable first, as none of the subdirectories showed up. After doing this, I started getting the stats. This didn't cause any loss of existing data. If this helps you out, would you please post it on the forum for the rest of the world?"
This works on the cgi version, I had only one Y04 directory not created, I created it on my server and it's been working ever since. |

Mine was working perfectly for the past 6 months until yesterday when I encountered the same message as everyone else here. Did a few testings and discovered that it was specific to the ISP that I am using. I tried login in from another ISP and it worked.
Anyway, other than changing the ISP, I have also discovered a workaround way. I downloaded the whole levelten directory from my host server down to my local hard drive and open the file (L10HC_Reporter.html) from there using my browser and it works without any problem. I don't know if it will work for you but you can always give it a try. Afterall, it doesn't take much effort to do it.
Rgds,
Alvin. |

Hi,
I had the same problem: Reporter which timed out.
This was happening when I didn't enter the FQDN of my server (it is a local server).
After entering the full domainname, it does work.
So it might be a DNS issue at the others.
Regards,

Hi,
It seems we´re all having some kind of the same problem. I use the PHP SQL Version on an company intranet.
Does anyone know, how to find out which server is not responding....?
I suspected the flash download adresses wich can not be reached from the inside. But bending these did not help.
I now will try to change the MySql URL from Localhost to the actual IP Adress. Following some of the hints in this thread, this might be one problem.

Hi,
Commenting my own thoughts: Yes, it is the MySql Server that does not respond, because in my case for some reason the localhost entry in the "L10_Params_DB.php" doesn´t do the Job. I changed it to the actual Server IP and...Bingo.....
I´m now onto integrating the "Spy" into the footer of my CMS Frame Pages to see how this works.
