|
|
I have been using your L10 Hit Counter CGI script for several months and think its great. Have now got access to extra mysql databases which will allow me to use your PHP script. My question is, will I have to change all my Page Tracking Code on all my pages when I install the PHP option? I take it for granted that all my historic data will be lost, but I would like to get PHP up and running asap, but need to plan how much time and what taks need to be done.
Await answer with great interest.
Cheers
PS I am also using this PHP Forum script on my site www.maximiliangenealogy.com its brill.... |

Does anyone know the answers to my questions or has anyone used the PHP/Mysql option and if so do you have any feedback and/or helpful suggestions re set up? |

Simple to set up but Yes, you'd have to change the code on your pages since it would be calling the php script instead of the cgi script. I personally don't know of a workaround for this
One thing you should consider is using SSI includes for the Header, Footer and other parts of your site that are the same throughout but are a pain in the a** to change on all of the pages when you need to. With a SSI Include, you'd only have to change the 1 file and it would be changed across ALL of your pages |

Thanks for the advice Jon. I'll consider making a change to PHP as and when I decide that my sites need a new fresh look etc.
Cheers
