|
|
Hi,
I see a post that was submitted in Dec 2004 that sounds similar to this, but I followed that advice and it still did not reolve my problem.
The installation of files has been completed successfully, it is only when I logon to the L10HC_Reporter.html page that I recieve the following error after the script attemps to connect.
"DATA TIMEOUT!
The server is not responding. Try again in a few moments."
Does anyone know how to resolve this? Obviously the script is having trouble connecting to the database, but how do I fix this?
I would apperciate any advice I am given.
Many thanks

If the installation worked, then the configuration is all right. Probably, either MySQL or Apache is not responding quickly. THat could be caused by too much traffic on the server, too few available child processes, too little memory, or some combination of the above.
It could also be simply a network issue. |

I'm in Great Britian and at the time of posting this it is 05:30 in the morning. I have log on to L10 Counter then Options and it does not matter what I do if you click on save all you get is time out try in a few minutes, now at 05:30 in the morning I know things are not busy, this is a problem with this version of L10 as I did not have this problem with the last version of 2 yrs ago. Can you not bring out a patch to cure this problem with the program. I also have a 1.3 ghz AMD Athlon processor and 1 gig of memory, so it is not the hosting company, ISP or my computer it has to be the program??????? so please don't blame it on others.
Thanks

| I get the same problem. While the Flash Reporter in the browser does not work, the stand-alone one for the desktop does. Give that a try. |

I'm sorry I do not know what you mean by the stand-alone one on the desktop the only one I have is the link at the bottom of the web pages on our site and a link in the favorits in Internet Explorer. |

| I have downloaded the reporter, but all what comes up is a macromedia flash screen with the level ten logo, when you click on it you just go to their website. When I downloaded the couter/stats, I downloaded the CGI version as I did not want to use mysql. Maybe the desktop reporter does not work with the cgi version. |

| It might be that your server is slow? At first I got the time out error, but I don't get it anymore. It might depend on how busy the server is. |

| Thanks for all your help, but it does not matter when I try it, I get the same time out message. Also I have just installed L10 formmail and that tells me there is no counter installed??? |
